What a Week!

Ain't Misbehavin', just testing out the cuteness boundaries.🐶

Puppy Speak:

Wednesday we went for a drive in the car. If we had known where we were going, we might not have been so excited. It was our first visit to the V-E-T. Actually we had been to the vet when we were at our other home, but we were very small then and don't remember that so well. Now, we have to say that the big people there were really nice and offered us treats, and gave us lots of cuddles. BUT, there was some  prodding and poking and Dr. B. put some stuff up our noses that we didn't like. He gave us a big shot too. Our Moms said it was something called a microchip. If we get lost they'll be able to find us. It hurt. Still they did give us big cuddles after that too, and that helped.

You think we look tired; you should see our moms! We sure do keep them busy, but that's what being a puppy is all about. We run and play and eat and then drop. They have to run and watch and follow us around. We really like these games.
Life in this house is really fun.

Mommy Speak:

If you look carefully you'll see that the kidlets are fighting over a toy. An identical toy is right beside Lucy's back paw. They were each given a knotted rope, but decided they both wanted the same one. This is not unusual. Whatever toy one has, the other wants it, whether or not there is another one laying right beside them. Siblings, human or animal, they're not much different in many ways.

Introducing the Puppies

Hi I'm Brook

Hi there, I'm Brook. I'm a bit smaller than my sister, but don't let that fool you. I can give her a run for the money in any scrap that we have. We love running around our new back yard and playing there. Everything is still a bit scary, but we are pretty brave and trying to learn what is expected. I've already learnt a new trick. My sister is a bit of a princess, she goes to anyone whenever she is called. However I love being outside and I know that when my mom comes to get me, most of the time if I just run the other way, I can stay out longer. She is pretty smart though. After the first few times of that, she went up the steps and left me. I didn't much like being on my own, so I think it might be better to go to her when she wants me to. I'll think about that a bit longer. She's pretty cool.

And I'm Lucy

I'm not a princess! Brook is so rude! I'm just the cute one, and the obedient one. Really we do love each other, but Brook gets a bit pushy at times and someone has to keep her in line and be the example of how things should be done. Guess that responsibility falls on me. We have lots of beds; a crate that I'm not sure about yet. I tend to sing when I have to go in that. Then there's a soft bed that's good for naps during the day after we've played a lot. But at nighttime, when we have the big sleep, I get to sleep in my mom Becky's bed, I really like that. Just her and me, with time away from my hyper sister - bliss. Yes, things are different and scary, but I'm sure we'll settle in soon, and we are smart puppies, so we will learn really quickly what the rules are here in our new home.

Welcome Home Brook and Lucy.

Becky and I picked up the puppies from Spanish Fork, UT. Sunday afternoon and drove them back to Provo. They are so darn cute. I know, all puppies are cute at eight weeks old, but you have to admit, these two are right up there on the top of the cuteness list.
I was planning on posting a blog straight away, but between running the potty marathon, and settling in two puppies who had been taken away from mom and siblings, organizing beds, and playing where are the puppies now? the blog didn't happen.
On the plus side, the babies slept very well. Becky took the 1.00 a.m. potty shift, and I did the 5,00 a.m. shift. When she came and took Brook from me, at 1.00 a.m. the pup was fast asleep and went right back to sleep after her trip outside. The same thing happened after the 5.00 session, so Brook and I slept in until 6.45. According to Becky, Lucy did pretty well also. We shall see what happens over the next few nights, - fingers crossed for similar good luck.

It's Puppy Day!

The Waiting Game

Don't you just hate waiting around?  We can't pick the babies up until after 2.00 p.m. It's only a little after 11.30 a.m. I was up just before 6.00. I've already checked out the beds and blankets several times, put their bring home box in the car, made a baked custard - not for the pups of course - and have been twiddling my thumbs whilst checking the time regularly ever since. And still we wait...
